Who We Are

Carol

Carol is a professional actor experienced in Theatre, Film (TV, Feature, Corp Video), and Voice-Over in a variety of venues. Among her recordings are audio books for the Library of Congress Recorded Books for The Disabled program. Last year, she was also one of the original recruits into Boston's "Parachute Teachers" start-up that enables individuals to fill in as substitute teachers by bringing interesting learning experiences to Boston area school children (her subjects are playing with Shakespeare's Language and introducing little known American historical figures).

With a BS in Biology & Psychology (Boston University) and further graduate level course work at Northeastern and Harvard Universities, she also has a professional work background in healthcare as a clinical microbiologist and in bio-science as a genetic research junior bench scientist, having worked on one of the many laboratory projects, worldwide, in the race to map the human genome. An integral part of that work led to locating the defective genes in bi-polar disorder. Part of Carol's inspiration for pursuing laboratory work was the fact that her mother was one of Dr. Dana Farber's first lab technicians at the Jimmy Fund building in Boston.

Her medical/bio-science training began upon entering Boston University under the only true six-year medical school program in the country at the time directly from Girls' Latin HS with a National Achievement Scholarship. After a year in the program and captured by the career path questions that plague many undergraduates, she began feeling the pull of the "artist's call" and was admitted to the Diploma Program at Boston Conservatory of Music's Dance Dept. (having taken lessons there and elsewhere in classical ballet and modern dance as a child and young adult). She continued to dance non-professionally for several years before returning to the world of medicine and bio-science - only to find herself coming back - full circle - to the performing arts world as a professional actor.

In addition, her work in sales and marketing covers a rather eclectic array of industries and includes extensive promotional work, inside and direct sales, fundraising, market research, and real estate sales and rentals.

A current longstanding and ongoing "preoccupation" with spiritual exploration and development occupies much of her non-working hours.
